Full Circle

It’s a crowded week with Thanksgiving and all. I’m currently on a flight back to Santo Domingo after the official launch of Worldwatch’s Sustainable Energy Roadmap for Jamaica. Of the three we are writing, this is the first across the finish line.

One of the reports my team and I have been working on these last few years.

For me, it has a little extra special meaning not just because it focuses on the island that has found an incredibly special place in my heart, it’s a reminder of my last assignment at SAIS, which I submitted minutes before walking into my first interview at Worldwatch just over three years ago. Comparing what I wrote then – which will never see the light of day, it is that horrible – compared to what this team assembled now is a 100-fold improvement. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished and for the impact this information can have regarding any kind of transition Jamaica hopes to make toward a great share of homegrown renewable energy sources.

You can check out the press release here. The link to the report is above. Feel free to explore it and see how Jamaica has real potential to become a model for what other countries can do. If you’d like to discuss it or have questions, by all means please reach out.

Cheers.
