We traveled to Wyoming in September 2016 to attend yet another wedding -- and explore another National Park! It was a welcome break from DC's heat and humidity and take in one of America's greatest views. Click on an image to begin the slideshow.
We arrived at Grand Teton National Park just before sunrise to watch the harvest moon set in the West as the sun prepared to rise behind us.
The sun had been hitting the mountains for about 10 minutes by this point.
We spent the first day hiking for a few hours, constantly amazed at every turn at the natural beauty surrounding us.
This guy kept popping up to nibble at the grass and see what all the commotion was top side.
Our second day was punctuated by a constant cloud cover of the mountain range. The gray provides an interesting contrast to the myriad fall colors on the valley floor.

On our 5-mile upward climb we turned around to see the lakes we explored the day before.
Fall colors were in full swing in Wyoming. To Larina, this constituted an extended autumn for her!
The park was filled with elk constantly calling out to each other the entire time we were there. We came across this beauty during our walk down from Amphitheater Lake.
