Green Power Conferences invited me back to their annual Renewable Energy in Central America (RECAM) conference, this time to discuss the electricity transmission system interconnecting Central America. The Sistema de Interconexión Eléctrica de los Países de América Central (SIEPAC) has recently reached new levels of electricity sales and purchases among its member countries. However, a vast amount of its capacity remains untapped and challenges to further growth remain. I've compiled a short presentation showing how the market has grown over the years and highlighting what I see as challenges SIEPAC has to overcome to achieve its fullest potential. Feel free to download it here.
